Avocado Oil DIY Hair Mask For Silky Soft Hair

Hello ladies,

Who doesn’t wish that every day is a good hair day?! Even the simplest of hair styles with healthy, shiny hair can make your look. I have waist-length hair which is fortunately thick and healthy. But, with great hair, comes the great responsibility of maintaining it. *flips and shows-off mane* ? So, I religiously follow my hair care routines which include both DIY and use of professional hair care products. In this post, I’ll tell you about one of my favorite DIY hair masks. This is a very quick, effective and easy hair mask with the least possible mess and very good results. It needs only four ingredients, and all are in their most natural form (which means fewer chemicals, yay!).

Ingredients:

The quantity of each ingredient mentioned is for waist-length hair. Vary it according to your hair length and volume.
1. Avocado Oil – 2 spoonful
2. Egg white – from 2 eggs
3. Honey – 1 spoonful
4. Olive Oil – 1 spoonful

Benefits of Each Ingredient:

1. Avocado Oil

It is rich in Vitamins E and B. These help in strengthening the hair because of Avocado Oil’s ability to deeply penetrate the skin. Vitamin E helps in repairing damaged hair and Vitamin B helps in hair growth. Avocado Oil is also very rich in monosaturated fatty acids. These help in nourishing the hair strands and prevent future damage by strengthening the strands from within.

2. Egg white

Eggs are one of the most inexpensive sources of proteins. And yes, hair is made up of proteins. Egg whites are widely popular in hair masks for deep conditioning treatments. One can achieve various benefits like shine, strength, and nourishment by varying just one or two ingredients in an egg-white hair mask.

3. Honey

It is a natural humectant and, hence, is highly valued for its ability to nourish and make dull, damaged hair or skin more lively and healthy. It strengthens hair follicles and promotes hair growth. The antimicrobial properties of honey keep the skin and scalp healthy.

4. Olive Oil

Olive oil soothes frizz, treats damage hair and helps get rid of tangles. It can remove the buildup of sebum that impedes the formation of new hair follicles and hinders hair growth. It is one of the best quick-fix solutions for dry, frizzy hair. It moisturizes hair and helps protect the keratin in hair as it is rich in Vitamins A, E and antioxidants.

Procedure:

Step 1:
Mix all ingredients in a plastic bowl. You could use a fork for this. Whisking with a fork is the easiest way to mix up ingredients which have different consistencies.

Step 2:
Wet your hair. I prefer to use this mask on towel-dried, shampooed hair. It is important that the hair is wet; otherwise, the mask will not spread and cover the hair as required.

Step 3:
Take sections of hair and massage the mask onto hair strands between palms. Cover the entire hair length.

Step 4:
Keep the mask for 5-6 minutes.

Step 5:
Wash off with lukewarm water.

This mask can be used as a replacement of your conditioner. It has all-natural ingredients and gives great results. Hence, it is any day better than chemical conditioners. Also, it doesn’t take a lot of time to make or work. It is a quick deep conditioning treatment. You can include this in your regular hair wash routine and not worry about taking time off on a weekend to nourish your hair. No doubt that the long pampering sessions for hair and skin are a great indulgence over weekends, but when you are looking for a quickie, such hair masks are great.

I hope you try this mask and share your results.
