Kim Kardashian’s Nutritionist Just Shared Her Top Dieting Secrets

We all know Kim Kardashian is an Atkins devotee, but we don’t know exactly what the millionaire mogul does to stay fit AF. Now, Colette Heimowitz, vice president of education and nutrition at Atkins, and Kim’s personal nutritionist, shares what KiKi loves to eat.

Heimowitz sat down with Elite Daily to spill some of Kim’s secrets

Kim knows what to do right now. She’s been doing this a long time. She lost 60 pounds with the first pregnancy, 70 pounds with the next pregnancy, she did it in college with her dad. So she gets the carbohydrate control mentality. She knows how to cheat when she doesn’t want to lose weight, she knows which things are best for her and which carbohydrates to choose, so she kind of knows what to do at this point.

As for what Kim does exactly, it’s pretty basic:

Make sure you have adequate protein (because protein keeps you satisfied, you control your hunger), when you pick carbohydrates, pick the highest fiber carbohydrates available and make sure you include some kind of healthy fat with the meal. If you follow those three basic rules, you’ll cut back on sugar and carbohydrates, and you’ll be healthier in the long run. And that’s it!

So, to break it down:

1. Eat a lot of protein.

2. When you eat carbs, make sure they have high fiber. (Heimowitz also suggested keeping sugars at less than 5 grams per serving and net carbs at 15 grams per serving.)

3. Make sure you have some healthy fat with every meal.

That’s that!

Heimowitz adds that if you follow those “overarching rules,” then the diet is very flexible and not that expensive — for example, you can save money by buying cheap meat (shudder), or if you’re a vegetarian, you can pick the vegetarian sources of protein. She added that olive oil is not expensive, and vegetables are cheap.

I guess if being skinny is your job, living that way is all fine and good, but let me hit you with another bit of nutritional advice: Cake is great and life is short.
